They were reluctant to provide an estimate on the phone but when pushed said about 30 for a small filling 60 for a larger filling. Donít be fooled though the minimum price as far as I can tell is 60 and thatís without any injections. This was the case for the chip to be repaired and another silver filling replaced for white. Still ok though I though and went ahead.

The chipped filling extended to the face of the tooth between the two back molars however the chip was on the top. Despite this he decided to replace the whole filling (not sure this was necessary) and this then resulted in sort of work that you might expect from a 1yr trainee.

After an incredibly quick replacement of no more than 7min he declared the job done. From the onscreen image though I could see a large overhang which he seemed to have completely ignored.

He said it looked fine, but then went on to break two pieces of floss because there was no gap left! Unrepentant he sent me out saying it would "free up" in due course, what??. Actually this turned out to be true, because about 6 hours later the main part of the filling simply broke away whilst brushing my teeth!

I stupidly then went back to get it repaired, only to have him struggle to do the whole thing once more in double quick time. Incredibly again he seemed to ignore the finish which had two sharp protrusions that I could see on the screen and feel with my tongue. I remarked on this and only then did he make some effort to reduce these.

Still at least itís done I though, and that would be that. But no, the initial discomfort I felt remained and over the next few days became steadily more painful. I also noticed that whilst flossing there appeared to be a large ridge on the base of the tooth. This ridge was actual the base of the filling and a bit of probing with the floss stick showed that there was a huge cavity right under it. The cavity plus the sharp edge of the filling was it appears leading to the pain.

I then made an appointment to see a different dentist who spent significantly longer removing this mess and re-filling it properly. The pain went immediately the procedure was done and has not returned and there is now a normal gap between the teeth.

All in all a very poor experience which I feel very badly about. I would avoid this place like the plague.

However I should have known better, as any dentist that uses the phrase ďIíll be honest with youĒ before every third sentence as this one does, probably is not to be trusted.
